"UNSIGNED" vintage handmade scratch built 12" wooden toy cannon 1950's-70's Australia. Handmade scratch built folk art toy cannon from various types of wood, naive design. Large and very heavy as barrel is constructed of solid wood. Barrel and wheel studs painted metallic silver. Carriage is stained a dark brown. Non-functional to shoot cannonballs as barrel is solid. Barrel can pivot from loading to firing positions on its axle. Wheels are operational as they spin on their axles. Ignition fuse constructed from polyester rope. A wheel stud is a repurposed black plastic toy wheel. Wheels are unpainted, unstained and unvarnished. Does not have any branding or maker's signature. Would make a wonderful decorative statement piece in a man cave. Likely handmade in Australia in 1950's-70's. Good Vintage Condition. Wear to silver paint, stains to wheels and rope is frayed. Sourced within The Mornington Peninsula.
