Vintage "BREADNER MANUFACTURING COMPANY" ("BM CO") scarab gold enamel brooch Egyptian winged 1970's CANADA. Large size. Figural shaped. High quality enamel and metal base with heavy gold electroplate coating. Depiction of a winged scarab beetle with cabochon. Red and blue with gold accents. Rolling safety clasp pin. Embossed stamp on back "BM Co." Art Deco, Egyptian Revival style. Made in Hull, Quebec, Canada in 1970's. Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula.

Winged scarabs represent the Egyptian god Khepri (the rising sun) and symbolise rebirth, transformation, and protection. Reproduction Scarab Pectoral of Tutankhamun.
