Tourist bag ZARIFFA Amun embossed 100% leather tooled antique 1920's Egypt EAC

"ZARIFFA LEATHER GOODS" Amun embossed tan brown 100% leather tooled tourist bag. Featuring 1 short fixed handle at top, wrapped in leather. Tourist bag can be used as a clutch, a messenger, satchel shoulder handbag, travel bag or portfolio bag. Ancient Egyptian scene on front flap of an Egyptian riding a camel in a circular motif, surrounded by palm trees and ???. The back side depicts a scene featuring Amun. Metal hardware. 100% leather. Interior of flap is firm from cardboard innards. Has a section to hold a mirror. Inner front has a compartment with envelope flap with press stud closure. Exterior flap has press stud closure. Interior: 3 seperate compartments, 1 with 2 side pockets for comb and tickets, centre compartment with exposed zipper closure. Fully lined, beige vinyl. Expands like an accordion. Edges have holes and are wrapped with dark brown leather binding. Art Deco style. 100% leather, likely camel leather. Unbranded but is "Zariffa Leather Goods" hand made in Cairo, Egypt in 1920's-40's. Would have been sold to tourists. Excellent Antique (or Vintage) Condition, for its age. Sun fading to leather on interior when lift up flap and sides when exposed. Metal hardware rusted, zipper broken. Staining to unlined interior leather (interior front compartment). Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula. Very rare and sought after.
