"ALPS" plush wind up 6" mechanical roaring lion. Brown fur on a metal base. Brown cloth face. Patent Number 16937 16938.


Manufactured in 1940's-50's in Occupied Japan. Cloth is worn especially on his bum and feet. Mechanically, in fair working condition. His mouth would open and close to reveal his sharp teeth. He is standing lopsided from the position he was left in. The wind up key is missing. His tail is not original and has been replaced with a tail constructed of twine. Sourced within The Mornington Peninsula. Acceptable Vintage Condition. Very rare and sought after.
