Vintage "ROSANDO BROTHERS" "ROSANDO FURNITURE" dining table mid-century blackbean extension 1950's AUSTRALIA. Drawer extension with crossbanded apron and standing on wishbone legs. Crafted from highly sought-after Queensland Blackbean veneer and timber. Mid-century modern, Art Deco style. Made in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 1950's-60's. Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula.

History & Background
"Rosando Furniture was a prominent mid-20th-century Melbourne-based furniture maker founded by Italian immigrant brothers Paul Rosta (designer) and Michael Rosta (cabinet maker).

Established in the 1950s, the company originally operated from Chapel Street in Windsor, later moving to Regent Street in Prahran, Melbourne.

Beginning with traditional furniture, the workshop transitioned into a distinct modernist and Scandinavian-influenced mid-century aesthetic during the 1950s and 1960s.

Known for custom or made-to-order pieces using high-quality Australian and imported hardwoods like Queensland maple veneer, teak, rosewood, and blonde hardwoods, often featuring unique curved lines and pale veneer work.

Authentic works by the makers—such as mid-century sofas and coffee tables—are held in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV)."
