"STATE SAVINGS BANK OF VICTORIA" baby 3" money box tin, boxed. Small, rectangular. Blue litho. Depicts 2 babies holding a sign. It reads as follows: "Baby's Box: When full, will be opened at any branch of the State Savings Bank Of Victoria, and the contents therein credited to a passbook account." Baby laying in a pink cradle wearing a white nightgown on the other side. Depiction of nursery rhyme "Hey Diddle Diddle" with the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumping over the moon, the little dog laughing and the dish running away with the spoon. Depiction of nursery rhyme "Little Miss Muppet" with Little Miss Muppet eating her curds and whey and being frightened away by the spider. Coin slot is on top. Illustrations signed by Betty Paterson. Manufactured in Victoria, Australia during 1950's. Excellent Vintage Condition. Comes in original cardboard box. Litho is bright with no loss, light scratches to gold tone trim top and bottom. Light wear to box. Suspect it has a coin inside, missing key. Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula.
