Vintage Mexican Popotillo love bird straw mosaic trinket ring box 1960's MEXICO. Small sized. Oval shaped. Trinket or ring box. Lidded with red lining. May have been used as an engagement ring box. Straw / sacaton grass / popote. Mosaic marquetry. Multi-coloured. Depiction of two love birds (top love bird has their eye closed or is missing an eye). Lacquered finish. Folk Art style. Handmade. Likely made in Mexico or Asia in 1960's-70's. Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula.
