Vintage "J.B. & CO" floral tapestry needlepoint petit point handbag 1920's-30's. Small, tapestry needlepoint petit point handbag. Black border, off-white background with multi-coloured floral design. Ornate steelwork metal frame with floral engraved design. Kiss clasp closure. Small chain handle. Brass tone hardware. Art Nouveau style. Interior: 100% silk lining. 2 side compartments, 1 with original removable make up mirror. Mirror is backed and framed with matching silk. Brand tag at opening reads as follows: "JB & Co Vienna Handwork". Stamped on metal frame near hinge reads as follows: "Made in Austria". Hand stitched in Vienna Austria, in 1920's-30's.

 

As New Unused Vintage Condition. Exterior and interior fabric are in immaculate condition. Still has original tissue paper, unused. Very minor age spots on mirror, very minor age tarnish on metal metalwork. Very rare and highly sought after, esp in exceptional condition and having original mirror. Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula.
