MODERK JAPAN xylophone player tin celluloid toy vintage 1950's Occupied Japanese
Moderk JapanThis delightful 1950's vintage occupied Japanese wind-up toy xylophone player from Moderk Japan will bring you back to the 50's and is considered very rare. The player is made of joined pieces of celluloid plastic. He wears a blue tailcoat suit with tuxedo slacks with red stripe, white shirt, white waistcoat and pink bow tie with matching boutonnière. The xylophone is made of joined metal, cream base and red keys. The toy is operated by a fixed wind up key, clockwork mechanical. "Made in occupied Japan" is stamped on the base. The player is in fair used working condition. He plays, though greatly assisted by a gentle nudge from the operator, stopping and starting. Light paint wear on xylophone keys and dirty overall, but good for its age in original condition and paint.
