Antique "SILAS MARNER" of "COLLINS' ILLUSTRATED POCKET CLASSICS" #19 of 330 by George Eliot softcover leather bound classic literature novel 1904-15, illustrated by Percy Tarrant, published by Collins' Clear-Type Press London & Glasgow in England. Undated but likely from 1904-15 or perhaps 20. Maroon leather bound with gold gilt and illustrations (plates). No dust jacket. Originally published in 1861. Sourced within the Mornington Peninsula.

"Silas Marner" is the story of a lonely outcast weaver, and the child who unexpectedly arrives in his solitary life, bringing him slowly back into the society that he has rejected and that has rejected him.


Excellent Antique Condition, inscribed, wear to leather esp top of spine and corners.
