"PRINCE ALBERT" red pipe cigarette tobacco pocket tin antique 1940's. Would be a beautiful addition to a vintage tobacco collection or tobacciana/British Monarchy collector or enthusiast or stunning study or man cave display piece.
Offset lithograph of red background with yellow and white writing. On the front: "Prince Albert. Crimp cut. Long burning pipe and cigarette tobacco. To open push up." with an oval illustration of Prince Albert. On the back: "Prince Albert. Tobacco is prepared for smokers under the process discovered in making experiments to produce the most delightful and wholesome tobacco for cigarette and pipe smokers. Process patented July 30th 1907. R. J. Reynolds Tobacco Company Winston Salem N.C. U.S.A. Does not bite the tongue." On one side: "For the pipe and cigarette smokers." On the bottom, embossed: "Prince Albert". Tin is small, thin and rectangular, perfect size for a pocket, pre-barcoded. Hinged lid. Net is weight is 1 1/2oz. Manufactured in America in 1940's. Prince Albert brand was a major success for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco after being introduced in 1907.
The tin is in very good vintage condition with minimal wear, minor scratches and rust spots, but all in all in good condition for its age (please refer to photos).
