"GRIFFITHS BROS" green red 6.5" embossed tea tin vintage 1920's Australia. Would make a beautiful addition to a vintage tea tin collection or stunning kitchen display piece.

Offset lithograph of green and red (and once gold). Embossed text on front reads: "Currants use Griffth's Tea's. Sydney. Melbourne. Adelaide. Signal trademark." with embossed illustration Australian native wildflowers. Hinged top lid. The lid reads: "Griffith's Tea." with an illustration of Australian native wildflowers. All other sides have Australian native wildflowers, namely Sydney Waratah, Melbourne Pink Heath and Adelaide Sturt's Desert Pea, which are coincidentally the state flowers from the 3 locations Griffiths Brothers operated. Pre-barcoded. Oblong shaped. Medium size. Manufactured in Australia in 1920's. Griffiths Brothers established one of Australia's first coffee and tea distribution businesses in 1879, and is still operating today. Very rare and highly collectible with beautiful patina only time can give.

There is considerable wear and surface rust, considerable loss of colour to lithograph (original gold is gone), but still visually notable, dings (considerable ding at front of lid) and scratches, but all in all in good condition for its age (please refer to photos).

Approx size:
