"BARET WARE" green pirate ship treasure 7" biscuit tin vintage 1950's England. Would make a beautiful addition to a vintage biscuit tin collection or stunning kitchen display piece.
Offset lithograph of green and white with red accents. 2 sided illustration of a tropical caribbean pirates beach scene with a pirates ship in the background with a pirates treasure chest spilling out with jewels and loot in the foreground flanked by palm trees anchored by flowers. Lidded with a plastic ribbed knob (likely originally coated in metal) and metal side handle. Red and gold trim top and bottom and on lid. Pre-barcoded. Medium size. cylindrical shape with slight flared base. Manufactured in England in 1950's, or perhaps a bit later. The makers mark has been worn from the base but has been identified as from Baret Ware. Made In England ©️B.W.Co. Baret Ware was established in 1952 by American company The Daher Company in Long Island, New York. Though based in America, the tins were manufactured in England and Holland.
There is considerable wear and surface rust, lithograph colouring is saturated esp the darker colours and loss of gold accent, some ding near the flared base, knob is a little bit loose, but all in all in fair condition for its age (please refer to photos).
